NEWS! Please read this!
As many of you know, we resell domain name registration for www.Dotster.com. Traditionally resellers build a website specifically for marketing, offer a plethora of products, and earn commission on each sale. Our purpose was different ... we simply wanted to make it easier for new clients. It's not our goal to profit from domain name registration. We just want to develop and host your website.
Recently Dotster began a marketing campaign that conflicts with our product offering. After registering a new domain name, you'll get an email, supposedly from us, describing additional products that you should purchase. This flies in the face of our "Keep It Simple" philosophy and we don't even offer some of the products they recommend.
So if you're arriving here for the first time, we'd like to recommend that you register your domain name through our new reseller account with GoDaddy.com, DogLogicDomains.com. Price is about the same, they offer FREE URL forwarding, great support and tutorials, and even a free email box. If you're reading this you probably plan to use our hosting and IDX solutions, so don't purchase a hosting package.
If you already have an account with us, and your domain name doesn't expire in the next few weeks, we urge you to transfer it. This is especially true if you have several domain names in your account. Take advantage of GoDaddy's free URL forwarding.
There's a bit of a dance, with several steps to follow. First you must
log in to your Dotster account. Make sure each domain has your current
email address associated with the Admin contact.
*(a word about spam below) Under "Manage Domains" at the bottom of the list, "Select All". Then in
the dropdown list, select "Unlock these domains - to allow transfers."
When that's complete, go back to "Manage Domains" and select all again,
but this time select Retrieve Authorization Code from the dropdown menu.
Log out of Dotster now and login or create your account at
DogLogicDomains.com. In the dropdown under Domain Names, select Transfer
Domains or Bulk Transfer. Once you submit the transfer you'll get an
email with further instructions. You'll need the codes from this email,
plus the authorization code sent by email from Dotster. If you read the
screen and follow the steps, in a day or so the transfers will go
through.
Timing is important. You can't start the process then come back
4 days later to enter the codes. They expire.
Thanks everyone, for your continued loyalty.
